Clogged Flue Causes sickness

This customer's hot water heater was back-venting carbon monoxide into her house because of the clog (very dangerous!).

A new class 'A' chimney was installed (along with a new liner) after removal of the deteriorated structure.

The roofline, after removal of the decayed upper-masonry chimney.

A look down-- the clog was at the base of the flue (where the connector pipes tie in).

Here's the culprit: deteriorating brick & mortar.

FACT:  Exhaust byproducts create acidic condensation from the furnace & hot water heater.

Every older brick chimney is prone to this type of deterioration.

A closer look at the new liner system.

Our technician puts the finishing touches onto this new class 'A' chimney.
